This pamphlet features many standard licks taken from the be bop jazz idiom.

The music developed and performed by Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis and other musicians in the ‘40s and ‘50s provides us with a large vocabulary of great sounding licks.

Use these ideas as fills or connectors between phrases or as part of your soloing bag of tricks.

These licks are taught using typical chord progressions in all keys and the latter section features the ‘I got Rhythm’ chord changes as a practice tool.
